Jakarta, Indonesia – Sinton Group recently had the privilege of meeting with the Head of the National Food Agency of Indonesia, Bapak Arief Prasetyo Adi, to discuss strategies that align with Indonesia’s agricultural self-sufficiency goals. The meeting focused on efforts to reduce the nation’s dependency on food imports by boosting domestic agricultural production. Sinton Group is committed to playing an active role in supporting these efforts, with a focus on promoting local agriculture, strengthening supply chains, and improving food accessibility throughout Indonesia. The discussion highlighted the importance of collaboration between the government and private sector in achieving these critical food security goals.

In addition to its national commitment, Sinton Group also plans to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and India, especially in the agricultural and food sectors. As part of this initiative, Sinton Group aims to collaborate with government-owned entities to support Indonesia’s nationwide food security efforts.
One of the key collaborators we have formed with is the National Cooperative Export Limited (NCEL), a multi-state cooperative body registered under the MSCS Act, 2002 by the Ministry of Cooperative, India. NCEL acts as the umbrella organisation in India, managing and promoting exports from the cooperative sector.
This partnership focuses on multi-commodity trading of five key products rice, meat, sugar, milk and fertiliser, which is formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The primary objective of this MoU is to promote trade between India and Indonesia. NCEL will act as the primary exporting agency for various commodities from India to Indonesia by sourcing it from various agencies and producers. Whereas Sinton Group shall act as a trading agency that will explore and secure demand from Indonesia and ensure efficient import and distribution of the commodities into Indonesia.
Through these efforts, Sinton Group and NCEL aim to create lasting benefits for all stakeholders, strengthening Indonesia’s agri-sector to meet both current and future demands, while also enhancing trade relations between India and Indonesia.
